The SAC Virtual Dysphagia Workshop is designed to provide participants with practical, clinically relevant information and recent developments on a diverse range of clinical topics related to swallowing assessment and management across the lifespan. This workshop will cover a broad variety of topics ranging from FEES in pediatric and adult populations, saliva management and oral care, end of life and palliative care, NICU care, knowledge translation and more. The sessions will culminate with a “lived experience of dysphagia” patient panel. Participants will have the opportunity to personalize some of their itinerary selections to fit their learning needs. 

Learning objectives

Upon the completion of this workshop, attendees will have:

• Learned about new and innovative approaches being used in different clinical settings and client populations;
• Advanced their capacity for knowledge translation and advocacy in the workplace;
• Furthered their appreciation for the impact of dysphagia on quality of life; and
• Returned to their workplace settings with new knowledge and approaches to guide best practices for assessment and intervention with their caseload.
